The Heritage of the Sons of God

And if you belong to Christ [are in Him Who is Abraham's Seed], then you are Abraham’s offspring and [spiritual] heirs according to promise. Gal 3:29 Amp

The Inheritance which we receive when we are in Jesus Christ is also the authority which Jesus has claimed back for us from Satan when He died on the cross for you and me.

Adam lost his authority and dominion over the earth when he sinned. When Jesus died on the cross, and all sin were paid for, the authority and dominion was rightfully restored to those who are in Jesus Christ.

This is your Inheritance (Heritage) in Jesus Christ. That you will rule and reign in His Kingdom. This is an Inheritance which we have already received and we can use it now.

We use our Heritage when we command sickness to leave, and it does. We use our Heritage, when we perform miracles and people get healed, delivered and are raised up from the dead. These Miracles are getting more and more, as more people realize the Power which we have in Jesus Christ.

This entire Heritage however comes with a condition – If you belong to Jesus Christ. You see, it is all about Jesus and His presence in your life. In his presence is where everything happens.

Jesus said, without Me you cant do anything, but in Me you are more than conquerors.

If you want to take up your rightful Inheritance from Jesus, which you should, the start looking for His presence. Seek His face and companionship. Everything in life that you are looking for is right there.

You are a Son of God if you have received Jesus Christ into your life. Sons automatically qualify for inheritance if they were appointed in the will. When Jesus died on the cross, you were appointed in His will to receive an Inheritance. You choose to receive your Inheritance or not.. What will you choose?

The Spirit within You

I appeal to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. Romans 12:1-2 Amp

You are a spirit which lives in a body and has a soul. When the spirit leaves the body, the body will immediately fall over, die and become dust again. Your body has no life in itself, but the life is in the spirit.

You must train your flesh to discern between good and evil. You must offer your body as a living sacrifice, by submitting it to your spirit which has the life in it. Your body is not you, your spirit is the actual you. The body is the place where you live. That is why the Word of God says that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Your own spirit, and the Holy Spirit of God dwells in your body.

If you start taking control of your spirit, feed it on the Word of God and take authority in the spirit, your body will just tag along and start doing whatever you tell it to do. If you tell it to be healed because the Word of God says so, then it will be healed.

The moment that you start walking in the Spirit [where you can crucify your flesh and place it under the dominion of His Holy Spirit] you will start to experience the supernatural power, which is part of Gods plan for your life.  This is the moment when miracles starts following you.

Your mind is the most powerful computer on the face of the earth and you can program it to do amazing things, but it was never made to be your governing system. The spirit is your governing system, and when you allow the Holy Spirit to take control of your spirit, you will be walking in the supernatural permanently.

Sharper than a Two Edged Sword

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing and effective; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life [soul] and [the immortal] spirit, and of the joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thought and purposes of the heart. Heb 4:12 Amp

When a man gets born again, his spirit is renewed, but his mind and soul still thinks carnally. The Word of God brings division between the two and trains you to think and act according to the Word of God. The Spirit and the flesh will draw you into different directions. When you renew your mind with the Word of God, you start to think and act like Jesus Christ and your life finds direction.

The Holy Spirit works on the Word in your Life and will guide you to make the right decisions. This is when your life turns around and start to get purpose.

Only the Word of God can put man’s life in proper order.

Your flesh is not evil, but if it is not under control of the Holy Spirit, then it is under control of the forces of darkness. You are either in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ or under the ruler ship of the devil. You can’t serve two masters.

By studying the Word of God under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will renew your mind, and change your life.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Heb 5:13-14

Violence in South Africa

The earth was depraved and was filled with violence (desecration, infringement, outrage, assault and lust for power). And God looked upon the world and saw how degenerate, debased and vicious it was, for all humanity had corrupted their way upon the earth and lost their true direction Gen 6:11-12

It seems as if everything was the same in Noah’s time as it is in 2011. The above could very well be a description of South Africa, or any other part of the world in this day.

Then God told Noah, to build an ark to escape all of this. But to us He has given an alternative solution to the violence, crime, hatred and lust for power which has corrupted the earth once again.

In Psalm 91:9 we see how God shows us to “build an ark” to escape the calamities of this world.

Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place. There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent. For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service] They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

God is giving us specific instruction to find His Presence. He want to protect us against all evil. But there is also a condition to His protection and that is that we will Take refuge in Him.

In Psalm 91:14 God says: Because he has set his Love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him: I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My Name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness - trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no never] He shall call upon me and I will answer him in trouble. I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My Salvation.

If you want to escape the violence which seems to be an unstoppable force, You have to search for His Presence. In Jesus is all the protection you need. Have you set your love upon HIM?

Battle between Spirit and Flesh

According to Romans 8:6 the Spirit of God gives Life while walking after the flesh will kill you,

The Spirit and the flesh are at war and they will always kill each other. You have the choice to decide which one will reign in your life.

Now the mind of the flesh [which is sense and reason without the Holy Spirit] is death [death that comprises all the miseries arising from sin, both here and hereafter]. But the mind of the [Holy] Spirit is life and [soul] peace [both now and forever]. Rom 8:6 Amp

When we live in the Spirit we have the promise of life and peace.

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other; so that you cannot do the things that you would like to … If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-17, 25

In order to lead a powerful Christian life, you have to train your spirit to rule over your soul and your body. Your mind should learn to obey what your heart tells it to do. You can learn how to do this by spending time in Gods Presence. When you spend time drinking in the Word of God, you will find life and peace.

The spirit of a person demands that the flesh (body) will obey and the flesh is reluctant to give up its control. Before a person is Born Again, the flesh totally dominates the person.

Getting to know of Jesus

Scripture: KJV

Mat 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

It amazes how one word can often say so much.
Take the word “of” in “learn of me”, and ask: why not “from” me?

The verse in itself explains why not “from”, in saying “for I am meek and lowly in heart”.
This is Jesus saying that he will not impose and force his teachings, will and ideas on us.
He suggests however that we “learn of him”.
How to learn of him is indicated in the scriptures:

Joh 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Joh 15:27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Wet van die Vryspraak Deel 1

Net soos wat daar natuurwette is, is daar oor geestelikke wette. Die wet van swaartekrag is ‘n natuurwet en afgesien of jy daarin glo of nie, werk die wet nog steeds.

So is daar ook volgens Romeine 8:2 ‘n geestelike wet wat sê : “Want die wet van die Gees van die lewe in Christus Jesus, het my vrygemaak van die wet van die sonde en die dood”.

God het ons geskape om in ‘n intieme verhouding met Hom te leef, maar as gevolg van die sondeval, het ons gees kontak met God verloor. Wanneer ons egter weergebore word, word hierdie Gees Verhouding herstel. Dan tree hierdie geestelike wet in werking wat ons vry maak van die sonde en dood.

In Heb 4:12 lees ons: “Want die Woord van God is lewend en kragtig en skerper as enige tweesnydende swaard, en dring deur tot die skeiding van siel en gees, en van gewrigte en murg, en is ‘n beoordelaar van die oorlegginge en gedagtes van die hart.”

Rejoice Pray Thanks

Vanoggend tydens stap-tyd gedink oor die gedagte van:

1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Sou dit dan nie verkeerd wees as jy “trials & tribulations” vir geruime tyd in jou lewe ervaar, en dan nog moet rejoice deur daarvoor te moet dankie sê nie?

Maak jy nie dalk van jou hart ‘n moordkuil in die proses nie?

Is dit nie dan ‘n leun en ‘n valsheid wat jy verkondig nie?

Toe kom die stil stem van die Heilge Gees en fluister sagkens die skrif-woorde in my gedagtes in:

Cast all your cares on Him ….

Ek gaan slaan toe na … die woorde kom voor in die KJV as volg:

1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Ons het tog so ‘n probleem om “humble” te wees.
Worstel eerder self met ons eie wil, deur en al hoe dieper in, in ons probleme in.

Die eie ek wat altyd dink hy kan en moet … dis soos ons mos van kleinsaf geleer is dat ‘n mens moet optree, werk, doen, terugbaklei, eie plek volstaan, eie dinge doen, buig of bars, verkieslik sonder om ‘n traan te stort in die proses (cowboys don’t cry) ensomeer. Daar is selfs daai humoristiese maar tog ook so ‘n paslike liedjie van vroër jare wat iets sê van “… O Lord it’s hard to be humble … but I’m doing the best that I can …” Nou moet mens DIT ook nog uit jou kop “uit-kry”. Maar by hierdie skrif gaan dit om humble te wees onder die mighty hand of God … en dit is ‘n voorreg … ook die feit dat Hy jou sal exalt op die regte tyd …

Selfs Jesus was humble, en het slegs gespreek wat sy Vader gespreek het en gedoen wat hy sy Vader sien doen het … en ook het Hy gely … onverdiend … van druppels bloed sweet, onherkenbaar gegesel, tot die dood aan die kruis …
Maar kyk hoe is hy ge-exalt / verhef / verhoog … aan die kruis en daarna, na sy opstanding. Ook is alles onder Sy voete geplaas … en sit Hy nou op die troon langs die lewende God, Sy Vader, aan wie Hy dan ook alles eendag sal oorhandig.

Wie is ek dan om nie te wil humble wees teenoor God nie!?
Of dalk is die probleem eerder: “Hoe doen mens dit?”

Kom ons kyk bietjie vanuit ‘n ander hoek uit:

Dit is eintlik ‘n groot voorreg en losmaking om dit te kan doen en nog meer, ‘n vrymaking van jou probleme deur hulle aan ‘n betroubare Vader te kan oorgee …
wetende dat hy nie net reeds daarvan weet nie, maar dat hy heeltyd met jou is, saam met jou, by jou is en dat Hy vir jou omgee en jou nooit sal verlaat nie (Dus die heeltyd baie baie goed op hoogte deurentyds, met al jou daaglikse omstandighede).

En toe kom ook die ander skrif-woord deur na my vanaf ‘n preek op TV van die 24ste Sept 2011 wat ek gehoor het, wat die volgende stelling maak:

Wanneer ons te doen het met die eise van die wêreldse lewe, dan ondervind on probleme, computers wat crash, en ander druk soos gesondheid, te vet of te maar, deadlines, werksomstandighede, familie probleme, geld-probleme, familie-sonder-geld-probleme ensomeer.
Dit het alles een doel voor oë, en dit is om jou vrede van jou te verwyder!

Maar wanneer jy jou vertroue op God stel, dan word die trials & tribulations werkstukke waardeur jy kan groei deur dit in geloof aan God oor te gee en Hom te vertrou daarmee.

So word jy dan ook gevorm en ge-hervorm deur hierdie druk-fases van die lewe om al hoe meer op Hom te vertrou en alhoemeer te groei in geloof en vertroue en om deurentyds in Sy vrede in te kan beweeg.

Rom 5:3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
Rom 5:4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
Rom 5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Jy leer dus om al hoe meer humble voor Hom te wees en al hoe makliker en met meer vertroue jou cares aan Hom oor te gee, en al hoe meer op hom te vertrou.

So word jy geslyp totdat die finale sprankelende produk as ‘n diamant verskyn onder God se magtige hand.

Daarom kan ons nou, toegerus met hierdie kennis en hierdie wete:

1Th 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
Onder all verdrukking bly wees … want dit vorm en slyp my deur dit oor te gee aan God

1Th 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
Gesels met God, praat, (bid / kommunikeer) waartydens ek nie net oor dit praat wat pla nie, (my “daily-wish-list”) maar ook oor die wonderlike dinge wat ek sien en aanvaar in sy skepping elke dag … asook die wonderlike wat hy alreeds vir my in my lewe gedoen het ook.
Pro 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

1Th 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
My in alles verheug, die goeie en dit wat oënskynlik nie so goed lyk nie, maar wat ek nogtans nou oor seker is dat dit alles deur Hom gebruik word om volgens Sy wil my alhoemeer te hervorm om al hoe meer aan sy Seun (Jesus Christus) gelyk te word, waar Hy sit langs die Vader op sy troon – dit is alles net ten goede vir my

So gaan God ons dan ook exalt op Sy tyd.

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Wat ’n wonderlike belofte en voorreg en seën is dit nie!

Iets, om met rede oor Bly te wees, om oor te kan Praat met God, en om oor te kan juig en dankie te sê vir Hom!

The Inheritance of the Sons of God

We as sons of God are also heirs with Jesus Christ. Note that we are not sub heirs, but co-heirs. So what is our inheritance and how can we take hold of it?

Galatians 4:7 
(Amplified Bible)

Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son: and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ

God showed me that there are two things that the church of today must understand, which we think we know, but we really don’t.

1. We must understand who we are !

2. We must understand what Christ did on the cross !

There is so much more by being a son of God than going to church. We have the power of God inside of us. 

Part of who we are, is to understand what our inheritance is.

First we must understand that as long as we are children, we can not share in the inheritance. Even though the inheritance was given to us.

Galatians 4:1
(Amplified Bible)

Now what I mean is that as long as the inheritor (heir) is a child and under age, he does not differ from a slave, although he is master of all the estate.

The King James Bible says “as long as he is lord of all”

We might have inherited everything that Jesus did, but as long as we are children, we can not claim our inheritance. But how do I become a son of God?

John 1:12
(King James)

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God…

If you have not yet received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, I want to invite you to do it now. Pray this prayer 

Paul says in Ephesians 1:17 – 18 that he pray that we will receive the Spirit of Wisdom so that we can know and understand what our inheritance is.

Ephesians 1:17-18
(Amplified Bible)

17 – [For I always pray to] God of our Lord Jesus Christ, The Father of glory, that He may grant you a Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him

18 – By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones)

So then what is our inheritance?

In Revelation 21 are a few of the things that we have inherited. 

It says among other things that The abode of God is with men, He will live among us, We shall be His people, He shall personally be with us, and be our God.

He will wipe away every tear from our eyes.

Death shall be no more

Neither shall there be sorrow and mourning

There shall be no pain

All things will be made new

He will be my God

I will be His Son.

Revelation 2 & 3 gives us some more detail about our inheritance:

The crown of life

We shall not be injured by the second death

We will eat from the hidden manna

We will have all authority and power over the nations

We will be clad in white garments

Our names will be in the Book of life

We will be a pillar in the sanctuary of God

We will sit on His throne and reign from there

When will we get this inheritance?

As soon as the One which leaves the inheritance dies. He has died on a cross 2000 years ago. The inheritance is there for you to claim. You can either take up the inheritance now, or you can live you entire life in poverty.

In Deuteronomy 30:19 God says” I have set before you life and death, therefore choose life so that you and your descendants may live..”

The Presence of God

The presence of God is where everything happens. This is where you will find the Glory and the Power.

You see, it is all about Him. If you can find His presence, you will have everything that you have ever wanted. It is not without reason that the Spirit of Wisdom says 

Proverbs 8:35
Amplified Bible

For whoever finds Me [Wisdom], finds life and draws forth and obtains favor from the Lord.

When my children were small, I would let them chase me. I knew they could never catch me. But at some point I would turn around and catch them. That is exactly what happened to me, and what will happen to you if you chase God. One day you will run into Him and your whole world will change.
